Haus Lärchensteig

Lärchensteig Holiday Home is idyllically located at 1,430 metres above sea level, surrounded by meadows and farmland, with breathtaking views of the 3,000-metre peaks of the main Alpine ridge. The village of St. Jakob, with its restaurants and small grocery store, is just a short walk away.

We have lovingly renovated this old farmhouse using typical local materials. We rent it out on Airbnb to families and groups or use it ourselves as a holiday home.
The spacious house sleeps up to 12 guests and is divided into two 3-room apartments and one large loft under the roof – each about 70 m² in size. The units can be rented separately or all together:
• The ground floor features a cosy open-plan living/dining room with kitchen and fireplace, two bedrooms, and a large bathroom. Heating is provided by an underfloor pellet system.
• The first-floor apartment has a separate entrance, a bright living area with a balcony, two bedrooms, one large bathroom with stone flooring and underfloor heating, and a second bathroom with washing machine. All rooms and bathrooms enjoy stunning mountain views.
• The attic loft is a multifunctional open space with a large open-plan bathroom. It’s perfect for a comfortable overnight stay, a yoga or seminar room, a remote workstation (with fibre internet), or a paradise for kids. Whatever you use it for, the large windows offer spectacular mountain views – even from the shower!

There are no other guests in the house – it’s all yours.
Stable fibre internet (100 Mbit) and an Ethernet socket in the loft.
For the renovation we used regional materials such as oiled larch wood for the flooring and silver quartzite in hallways and bathrooms.

The Pfitsch Valley is an unspoiled, peaceful mountain valley shaped by traditional farming and mostly untouched by mass tourism. Perfect for hikers, cross-country skiers (trail access in St. Jakob), and ski tourers.
For alpine skiing, it’s about 25 minutes to Mount Rosskopf (Sterzing’s local mountain) or 35 minutes to the large Racines ski area.

Please note: this is a working farm area! The house is next to agricultural land, so you may occasionally encounter cow dung, flies, or the scent of cows, pigs, or chickens. It’s all part of the mountain experience.
