Prati/Wiesen and Pfitsch valley form one of the most natural areas in South Tyrol, which extends east from Sterzing towards the Zilltertal Alps. You can find here numerous trails to enrich your walking holiday. The unique mountain skyline not only appeals to the eye. The tranquility of the mountains provides relaxation. Pleasant hiking trails in the valley are paired with exciting tours in high alpine terrain. Familiar trails are leading from Prati/Wiesen to pastures and snack stations. In the Pfitsch high valley is waiting for families a beautiful valley bottom round.
The community park in Prati/Wiesen delight with a Kneipp water-treding basin, a mini-golf parcours and a children playground in summer and with a natural ice rink in winter. We recommend also a hiking trip to the nearby Sprechenstein castle and the Hofschenke tavern. Although the castle is not visible, you can experience a wonderful view on the Vipiteno/Sterzing basin. A few walking minutes from the park you find the Wiesenhof equestrian center. On request your children can enjoy a pony ride and get up close with the cold-blooded animals.
Climbers feel most comfortable in Pfitschtal! Numerous tours to high alpine terrain, from easy to challenging, are waiting for mountain friends. An unforgettable experience is a hike to the Hochfeiler summit, the highest point of the Eisacktal valley. Less trained people can hike to the three refuges of the valley. In particular, the Landshut trail from Pfitscherjoch Europahütte is a highlight for casual hikers and offers a panoramic mountain view.
In winter time the cross-country track in Pfitsch valley opens new perspectives. Enjoy the shining of the snow-capped peaks during your skiing. The trail, at 1450 meters above sea level, is suitable for beginners and experts and offers every degree of difficulty all along the valley. Ski touring fans discover a true snow-safe paradise; and winter hikers enjoy the tranquility along remote country roads. A relaxing time is guaranteed!
